I’ve tasted the sweet life.
If you read my post about Liverpool, you’ll know I booked a very last minute seat on the train to Brussels. That seat was a bit pricey as it was a Business Premier ticket on Eurostar.
This is the short story of my 2nd ever business class travel experience. My first experience was flying to the French Basque Country about 6 weeks prior.
I booked a ticket for the 3rd of August on the 1st of August. I had been looking at the ticketing page for days watching tickets be unavailable and then become available for all the dates around when I wanted to leave. I sat and refreshed the pages for the 3rd, 4th and 5th all day until suddenly a ticket became available and even though it was a pretty expensive business class ticket I bought it instantly. And it was honestly pretty worth it.
3 Reasons to Travel Business Premier on Eurostar
1. You can arrive at the station much closer to departure because you get to use an expedited security line.
2. There’s a lovely, air-conditioned lounge at St. Pancras International and they provide you with good wifi, drinks (alcoholic and non-alcoholic) and snacks.
3. You get a delicious meal and more space on the train.
The time from London to Brussels is just under 2 hours with a short stop in Lille.
I had requested the vegetarian meal when I booked. It was the only alternative meal that was available for my journey, but it turned out that my main and many of the other elements were gluten-free as well. I also got my food served first because it was a special meal. It was delicious (some sort of ratatouille type thing, maybe).
I did eat a few gluten-free crackers that I had in my bag to supplement (and counteract the multiple glasses of wine).
Before I knew it, we were pulling into Brussels and I was going to have to find my hotel with no cellular data.
Spoiler: I got a bit lost but I made it there safely.
